Experience
I often see students struggling with certain topics and wondering why their are learning such "pointless" subject matter. "When will I ever use this?" is often the question I hear. I try to explain to the student that while they might not ever need to use the Pythagorean theorem in their chosen career (nor will they remember how to do it perfectly), these topics are ultimately beneficial for the thinking skills that they develop in the process. Challenging topics provide students with the ability to learn, deconstruct complex equations into more comprehensible pieces, focus on a task for a duration of time, and also learn how to persevere when faced with difficult problems. There are numerous reasons why tackling "pointless" topics is beneficial. Math is great for preparing students' brains for higher pursuits outside the classroom regardless of the field.I attended Roosevelt University and Roosevelt University. I have experience in Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Algebra 3/4, Geometry, Precalculus, and Trigonometry. I've also tutored students in test preparation, ACT Math, and general ACT preparation. In my spare time I like to be outside in nature. I love gardening, photography, and writing. I also like design and decorating.
