Graduated cum laude from Wheaton College in May 2011 with a B.A. in English Literature & History. Obtained Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education at National-Louis University in August 2015, with a double-endorsement in English and History.
Experience
For the past 4 years, I have taught a variety of high school courses ranging from English to Speech, Logic & Debate. I have become adept at differentiating my instruction for a wide variety of learning abilities, making accommodations for low-performing students as well as high achievers. I have tutored students in grades 4-12 in such diverse subjects as English Language Arts, History, Sociology, Government, and English Literature. Attuned to the strengths and weaknesses of each of my students, I aim to assist and motivate students in their educational and personal development. By equipping my students with the strategies they need to focus and pace themselves, I foster each person's potential to excel academically. As an educator, nothing brings me more joy than to see a student become confident in their ability to excel at the academic level. I do my very best to explain complex concepts in simple terms that students can understand. I approach tutoring as a way of facilitating the learning experience of the student.
